Schedule: 20 hours per week, flexible within Pacific Time

Working Days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Web Developer with strong proficiency in both front-end and back-end development. The ideal candidate is capable of building responsive, scalable, and high-performing web applications and websites using modern development tools and languages. This is a fully remote position that requires clear communication, self-management, and a commitment to clean, maintainable code.

Responsibilities:

Front-End Development

• Develop user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Work with modern frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Implement responsive design and ensure cross-browser compatibility
• Use CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS for more maintainable styling
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate designs into functional code
• Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) for code collaboration and deployment

Back-End Development

• Build and maintain server-side applications using one or more of the following: Node.js, Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, or C#
• Design and manage databases and APIs (RESTful or GraphQL)
• Ensure application performance, scalability, and security
• Integrate third-party services and APIs as needed
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements

Requirements:

Front-End Skills

• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Familiarity with frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass or LESS)
• Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility
• Proficiency with Git and code versioning workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket)

Back-End Skills

• Proficiency in at least one back-end language (Node.js, Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, or C#)
• Experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, Spring Boot)
• Database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication, and web security best practices

General

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to manage time independently and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies (a plus)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
