As a VFX Artist at Ubisoft Montréal, you will create spectacular real-time visual effects that make this mobile game shine, while respecting the unique constraints of mobile hardware and game engines. We are looking for someone passionate about blending art and technology, comfortable in a collaborative environment and willing to experiment to push visual limits on mobile. A rare opportunity to innovate and redefine what high-quality visual effects can be on this platform.

What you will do:

  • Design and implement dynamic, performance-friendly real-time effects in Unity, such as particles, flames, smoke and firing effects.
  • Collaborate with art directors, animation and design teams to adapt the franchise’s iconic visual identity to mobile while improving gameplay experience and meeting technical constraints.
  • Manage VFX optimization and technical constraints to ensure consistent performance.
  • Explore new processes and techniques to push the boundaries of mobile visual effects.

Qualifications / What you bring:

  • Good understanding of game engines.
  • Experience with Unity and best practices for mobile optimization.
  • Experience with node-based shader editors such as ShaderGraph or Amplify.
  • Strong artistic sense and ability to translate a clear visual intent within a technical context.
  • Passion for competitive games and an understanding of visual clarity concerns in gameplay.
  • Autonomy, adaptability and excellent communication skills.
