We're all bunnies. As a collective, we refer to ourselves as the fluffle.

About the Position

The UX writer will work closely with the product and marketing teams, identifying and understanding the user's jobs to be done, to provide suitable user interface copy, microcopy, and transactional emails copy, among other written content requirements.

They'll also be responsible for collaborating with the UX research and testing team, to better understand the impact of the delivered copy, and find ways to optimize it. They'll find themselves partnering with the marketing team as well, towards balancing user-advocacy vs SEO needs within certain areas of the product.

On top of that, they will also be responsible for documenting and maintaining the communication guidelines and nomenclature, increasing the bus factor, and promoting well-written communication practices across the company.

Job responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Crafting the right words to accompany the right designs with the right word choice.
  • Write copy for user interfaces so that people can navigate, use and troubleshoot the product easily.
  • Create effective page titles and navigation menu item names so that users can intuitively get to the page or screen they want.
  • Write error messages that are simple, effective and blame-free; so, in the unfortunate event of an error, users feel assured rather than annoyed.
  • Craft effective emails and newsletters to achieve product goals (such as to get people to sign up for an account).
  • Weave a cohesive narrative throughout the product, so users will experience a consistent tone of voice and direction no matter which screen or page they access.
  • Creating and maintaining guidelines and style guides that include tone of voice.

KPIs for this role

  • Conversion rate of the main flows of the platform
  • Task success rate (when testing flows or prototypes)
  • User error rate (when testing flows or prototypes)
  • Number or tasks and bugs created due to UX writing issues

Challenges you’ll work on

For the first 6 months you are expected to help us work on the following challenges:

Learn as much as possible about the product, it's main goals, flows and areas of impact and improvement.

Have a proactive mindset in regards to suggestions and product improvements.

Increase bus factor of our content writing best practices.

Ensure we increase the clarity of the information presented in our platform.

Build bridges with different areas such as marketing, sales and customer operations to better understand who are we communicating with, their pain points, needs, and feedback, in order to transmit them as they work in written content proposals.

  • Have at least 2+ years of experience writing content for digital products.
  • Have a C1 level (business fluent) in English.
  • Have worked within a product team towards building simple, clean, and easy-to-use apps or platforms.
  • Have an eye for creating product copy for new features with the vision of scalable and easy to maintain communication guidelines and nomenclature.
  • Are used to actively interacting during the design process, giving and receiving feedback.
  • Are used to building relationships across product functions and other departments, advocating for the good use of the written content guidelines.
  • Are comfortable managing various initiatives simultaneously.
  • Are able and willing to work in a highly diverse and multicultural team where various religions, ideologies, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and nationalities work together.

Team structure

  • You will report to Vladimir Vivas - Head of product
  • Team: Product, composed of Product management, L10N management, Product design, UI design, UX research, and UX testing
  • Location: Our current team is distributed between Brazil, Italy, and Colombia. Start date: As soon as possible

Moreover, you will work closely with the following teams: Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Operations. These teams are based in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Egypt, South Africa, and The Philippines.

We are used to working in a distributed manner, so this role is open to professionals based in THE AMERICAS and EMEA.

Career path

You will be expected to remain in this role for 2 years. The knowledge and experience you'll gain may then enable you to perform any of the following roles, either at Bunny Studio or somewhere else:

  • Senior UX writer

  • UX generalist
  • UX manager
  • Head of UX

💰 Compensation

Because we value transparency, your compensation will be USD $38,025 per year, depending on your knowledge, experience, and performance during our selection process.

At Bunny Studio, we strive for equity amongst all our team members. Therefore, our compensations are determined per functional area and role. Hence, team members within the same role and job level will earn the same. Before you apply, ensure that the salary is within your income expectations.
