The Role

We need your curious and creative mindset, and we’re currently looking for a talented user experience designer to join our team.

Working under the supervision of the Experience Lead, you’ll be part of an enthusiastic, creative, team who are not afraid to push boundaries and get out of their comfort zones. If you love all things digital, have a passion for creating beautiful designs that are centred around user needs, then this could be the role for you.

The right candidate will be able to use design thinking methods to collaboratively (and with support) develop user journeys, wireframes and hi-fi designs working iteratively in an agile workflow. Be passionate about creating simple design solutions, nerdy about design systems

and have some understanding of accessibility.

Requirements

What does success look like :

• Taking part in discovery and immersion activities

• Sketching out and developing customer journeys

• Creating lo-fi wireframes

• Creating beautiful hi-fi designs

• Creating and maintaining Design Systems

• Working primarily in Figma

• Presenting to the team and to clients

• Delivering documentation & user-friendly guides for tech/content teams

• Championing user needs throughout the design process

• Working collaboratively in a cross functional team

--- Key skills and attributes of a UX Designer at LAB:

• Self-starting and proactive. But can recognise when to ask for further guidance and

  support.

• Knowledgeable of user-centred design principles

• Knowledgeable of atomic design principles

• Confident to make good design decisions and to present solutions to other members

  of the team and stakeholders.

• Happy to become part of the core delivery team. This includes joining daily standups

  with the clients and helping to run internal workshops.

• Strong collaborator, facilitator and communicator

• Have a keen desire to validate design decisions through user testing, facilitation of

  simple user testing

• Excited about design and will contribute to internal discussions and knowledge

  sharing sessions

• Experienced using tools such as Storybook and working with UI devs

• A positive team player

• Motion design and animation experience
• Experience working with new tech such as AR / 3D
• Ability to sketch and / or illustrate to a high standard
