Company description: Founded in 1991, Hybride is Quebec's first digital visual effects studio. For over 30 years, Hybride's team has reinvented the VFX industry, one project at a time.
Position description: You will work closely with your Team Lead to create photorealistic textures, work on shading, and develop the look of assets (characters, environment elements and/or props).
Responsibilities:
- Create textures based on references (internal or provided by the client).
- Create UVs for assets to be textured (multi-tile).
- Be responsible for lookdev and shading of assets in Arnold for Houdini.
- Produce photorealistic elements while respecting the project's established technical and aesthetic standards (film or TV series).
- Use appropriate methods to meet deadlines and optimize render times.
- Follow established techniques and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Collaborate with the Lighting department to ensure the asset is photorealistic in the shot context.
- Occasionally create shading networks using procedurals.
- Ingest textures coming from other vendors.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Mari and/or Substance Painter and Photoshop.
- Solid understanding of shaders and AOVs.
- Minimum 2 years of 3D texturing experience in the VFX industry or with a ray-tracing renderer (Arnold, V-Ray, etc.).
- Knowledge of Arnold and Houdini is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of Nuke and Maya is an asset.
