- 9 day fortnight
- 72.5 hour fortnight

About our opportunity
Development Services is shaping a better Moreton Bay by assessing and managing the effects of development on the community and environment of Moreton Bay, working in partnership with the development industry to design and construct infrastructure for the community as well as levying and recovering infrastructure charges to fund new and upgraded major community infrastructure.
As a Technical Officer within the Development Services team, you will provide technical support to the planning team by being responsible for the lodgment, referral and properly made process for all types of Development Applications.
In addition, you will also:
- assess, review and determine Development Applications to be properly made and be responsible for the processing of those applications up until the issue of the confirmation notice, or the end of Part 1 of the DA rules
- refer applications in accordance with a referral matrix and apply and interpret state referral triggers
- calculate, levy and recover Development Application fees
- coordinate, review and determine applications to be properly made
- build and maintain strong working relationships across a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
About you
We are looking for a Technical Officer who has knowledge and experience in the delivery of planning assessment, who holds a Diploma in Town Planning or equivalent and has a current white card.
You will have good, rounded knowledge of the principles and practices relating to Development Applications, the Planning Act, The planning regulations, specifically DA rules and referral triggers and an awareness of the State Planning Policy, the SEQ Regional Plan and the Planning scheme.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team as well as demonstrated ability to communicate to a diverse range of stakeholders, with the ability to manage conflicting prioritises and meet deadlines.
