Job Type: Permanent

Location: This will be a hybrid role, with a requirement to travel around the UK.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced financial services professional with outstanding technical knowledge to join our growing Standard Life Retail Intermediary business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in positioning Standard Life as a trusted partner and thought leader in the UK intermediary market through the delivery of innovative insightful content

This individual will lead on our external technical engagement with financial advisers, providing in-depth knowledge and guidance to Standard Life’s intermediary partners on pensions, tax, trusts and regulatory affairs. They will work closely with our Business Development team, visiting target firms around the UK to build relationships with key influencers and decision makers, as well as representing Standard Life at external events, helping the business achieve its growth ambitions.

What are we looking for?

  • Excellent technical knowledge of pensions, tax, trusts and regulatory affairs, with the ability to apply this knowledge to a financial adviser’s business and deliver valuable insights and opportunities.
  • Experience at confidently presenting complex technical information to financial advisers at seminars, team meetings, and other events across the UK, varying the approach to suit the different audiences.
  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations and training sessions, both internally and externally, working closely with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Proposition and our existing TechVoice team on the creation of new and relevant content.
  • Build relationships with influencers and decision makers at target firms, generating new business leads through the technical support provided.
  • Play a key role in the Retail Intermediary trading channel achieving its growth ambitions and increasing its share in target markets.
  • Professional qualifications such as Chartered Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), or equivalent.
