Job Description

As a Technical Artist at Ubisoft Montréal, you will play a key role linking art and programming to bring visually striking and highly performant features to life. You will apply your expertise to the project to exceed the expectations of AAA game players and realize the team's creative ambitions.

From the earliest stages of development, you will work closely with artists and programmers to define, implement, and optimize effective technical solutions. You will take into account measurable constraints such as rendering, performance, and memory while preserving the integrity of the artistic vision.

With a creative and pragmatic approach, you will set up clear pipelines, tools, and procedures, ensure their application throughout the project, and support your colleagues through guidance, training, and performance analysis. You will act as the interpreter and point of contact who facilitates smooth and efficient collaboration, ensuring AAA quality through to final delivery.

What you will do

  • Establish fast, efficient, and clear pipelines.
  • Prepare and maintain consistent documentation on pipelines, tools, and procedures.
  • Perform benchmarking of your features based on research and testing.
  • Prototype features and provide transparent reports on their performance.
  • Contribute to the creation of an asset library (e.g., textures).
  • Ensure the application of established procedures and standards.
  • Fix bugs and polish your features.
  • Provide training and technical support to team members.

  • Scripting knowledge (C#, JavaScript, MaxScript).
  • Skills in shader writing and motion design.
