Behaviour Interactive is partnering with Haenir Studio to develop and publish their hotly anticipated debut IP, Blight: Survival. The game takes place in the no man’s land between two desperate kingdoms locked in a ceaseless war. Within this realm of death and decay, a new strain of Blight has erupted from the remains of the fallen. Fed and strengthened by the blood that’s been spilled, it rapidly spreads – turning man into monster.
The Technical Art Director manages and oversees the art production process. You will work constantly with the Artistic Director, the lead artist, the artists, and the other directors on the project. Your expertise and advice will guide the decisions that will drive visual quality in our games.
You will be responsible for providing a motivating technical environment to your artists, adjusting the production process to achieve quality targets, and sharing and encouraging best practices within your business unit.
In this role, you will :
- Understand a project art direction and oversee its development within the current production process ;
- Define the technical constraints of art production in the project by automating tasks and improve processes to simplify production ;
- Suggest and guide the development of best practices, solutions, and tools ;
- Promote the reuse of resources, know-how, and tools ;
- Do a technological survey and constantly push the edge of technology ;
- Foster good communicationwith the creative and technical teams by assessing the impact of rendering methods on performance ;
- Help assess costs associated with art production.
What we're looking for :
- 12 years of experience in 3D modeling, texturing, lightning and special effects for video games, at least 5 in technical positions ;
- Knowledge of Python (CG and HLSL an asset) and advanced experience with Maya and Substance (Blender an asset) ;
- Strong mandotory production experience with Unreal including Blueprints ;
- Understanding of the rendering process in different platforms and strong ability to manage priorities ;
- You are comfortable communicating and drafting documents in French and English (the vast majority of contracts are in English).
