Sprintax, part of Clune Tech, is a web-based tax return preparation software that provides a number of tax related services to non-residents in the United States. We help thousands of international visitors such as students, scholars, teachers, trainees, researchers, work and travel participants and other foreign individuals that are temporary in the United States each year with the preparation of their tax returns.
Description of the role: Sprintax currently provide a range of tax services to the nonresident market and is expanding its services, in particular in the product areas of Sprintax Calculus and Sprintax Dividends. As part of this expansion, there is an increasing need for tax specialists across markets including the US, Canada and other markets that need to be evaluated.
This position will provide research and operational support to assist the development and the delivery of high-quality operational tax services for clients with a primary focus on expanding the Calculus and Dividend product portfolios.
The individual will work closely with the current Sprintax teams, including product experts in the US and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Research, determine and document the best practices for tax reclaim and upfront tax relief procedures in a range of markets.
- Within these markets, research, determine and document the best practices for tax reclaim and upfront tax relief procedures for a range of income types, for example US withholding tax on rental income or reclaiming dividend withholding tax in Canada for a small investment firm.
- Identifying new product and revenue opportunities, based on the research conducted.
- Work with the wider product team to develop software solutions to address market opportunities
- As the role, markets and services develop, there will be opportunities to get involved in the operation rollout of services in these markets, including liaising with clients and internal business groups on tax-related queries, and product support.
Key Performance Indicators
- Researching and documenting best practice.
- Identification of new product and revenue opportunities.
- At least two-to-three years of operational tax experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Business, Finance or Tax desired but not required.
- Entrepreneurial approach to working in a small team
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Energy and enthusiasm
- Effective office, time management and organizational skills
- Excellent spoken and written English (grammar, spelling and pronunciation) and experience in presenting
- Computer literacy – knowledge of Word, above average Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
