Storage and Data Administrator

Purpose and activities

In this position, the person will work on the management of data storage infrastructures and related services located on-premises and on Cloud Service Providers.

In this context you will have the opportunity to:

• Operate the operation and management of services and structures for data storage such as File Servers, Block Disk Storage, Object Storage, with particular attention, but not limited, to implementations on Cloud Providers.

• Be part of a Storage & Data Administrator team to ensure integrity, performance and reliability of all data storage systems.

• Independently carry out assigned tasks, tracking activities and progress, maintaining documentation, and resolving issues that interfere with the delivery of assigned services.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Work closely with team members, learning and following operational procedures to ensure service continuity.

• Know and verify appropriate parameters to control system performance.

• Maintain proprietary and cloud/on-premise storage configurations to ensure efficiency and functionality.

• Troubleshoot, including medium-high complexity issues, related to:

  • Data availability
  • Access time performance
  • Infrastructure faults impacting services provided to company units and/or end customers

• Acquire operational skills to control resilience, stability, replication and other key aspects of data management.

• Document and maintain Storage and Data Management team processes.

• Know and apply procedures related to updates, fault and performance monitoring, installations, replica management, system problem diagnosis, disaster recovery tests and maintaining user accessibility.

• Know and implement security settings for data access in Linux and Windows environments.

Required experience

At least 3-5 years of experience in the role is required.

Required qualifications, skills and competencies

• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems • Knowledge of storage systems • Basic understanding of enterprise application architecture, components, systems, network and infrastructure-as-code • Knowledge of scripting and infrastructure programming languages • Shell • Python • PowerShell • Terraform • Fluent English • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity topics, the Digital Resilience (DORA) regulations and data privacy (GDPR)

Preferred (plus)

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud, Azure, AWS • Experience in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field • Knowledge of containerized environments
