**We are looking for a creative, technical, and highly collaborative Software Engineering Manager who is looking to make an impact at an early-stagep that is disrupting the HR space.
In this role, you will help execute against the product vision and strategy through your technical leadership while coaching, managing and mentoring a team of fullstack software engineers. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you’ll directly impact the technical direction and engineering productivity of the team. Empathy, leadership, collaboration, innovation, and speed are core aspects of this role.
Manage and lead the engineering team to drive productivity and proactively implement better practices and processes to improve our product development lifecycle
Actively coach and mentor the team by providing regular constructive feedback, 1:1s, praise and recognition and performance reviews
Provide technical leadership and actively participate in carving out the technical roadmap that aligns with our product vision and strategy
- Creatively ideate innovative technical solutions to customer problems with the team
- You’ll work closely with product management, design teams, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, incorporate feedback, and lead engineering solutions
Manage the interviewing and hiring process for the engineering team and help lead recruiting efforts to grow and scale the team
You’ll help define the scope and technical requirements for large-scale initiatives while managing team allocations
You’ll help research software components and third-party programs based on product and engineering needs
- You’ll help create and drive team-level OKR goals to ensure we are focused on the right things and ensure we actively works towards achieving them
- You’ll participate in discovery and planning of new products and features while driving the technical direction
You’re a former software engineer with 6+ years of software engineering experience, preferably at a fast-growingp
- You have 3+ years of experience managing others
- Experiencing leading and scaling a high-growth, early stagep a plus
You have a high degree of empathy for the challenges engineers face on a daily basis, as well as the needs of a growing and fast pacedp
You have a bias towards action and a willingness to fill the gaps as needed
You are comfortable operating in a maturing environment and are able to implement best practices, leveraging your experience
You are passionate about technology and stay up to date with the latest trends
You are a true creative technologist - aiming to solve user problems in innovative ways leveraging the latest technology
You have working knowledge of Agile development processes and engineering best practices
- You have excellent communication skills, high EQ, and take a collaborative and empathetic approach to problem-solving and working with others
