With all of Bolt’s momentum, our marketing team is rapidly growing. We are looking for an experienced Director of Brand Marketing to lead the reimagining of Bolt’s brand strategy and partner with teams to ensure that it comes to life in a way that is distinct and consistent across the entire customer journey. Your goal is to grow Bolt to be a household name for shoppers and help us define our category that through breakthrough campaigns. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a background in consumer marketing, brand marketing and/or advertising, and proven success collaborating with distinct stakeholders to develop and execute campaigns. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships are critical to success in this role.

Bolt is in a unique position to play at the intersection of technology and culture - where shoppers buy their favorite brands and products to craft their identity and make their life easier. We are seeking a brand leader who has their finger on the pulse of culture - that understands trends vs. fads and how our brand can play a meaningful role in the conversation. On top of that, this individual should have experience in developing customer personas and insights–and evangelizing them throughout the organization.


  • Be the owner and steward of the brand strategy. You will be responsible for all Bolt employees, partners and shoppers understanding Bolt’s brand and how it should shape our business.
  • Partner closely with product and product design on the development of our customer personas/archetypes
  • Lead the definition and evolution of our brand strategy - mission, vision, values, positioning, value propositions, RTBs, etc.
  • Lead development of marketing campaign creative strategy with customer insights and data at the core, partnering with other marketing leads to ensure that their business objectives come through in the campaign brief
  • Lead brand marketing campaigns - setting the strategy, partnering with creative and media on campaign concept, execution, optimization and measurement
  • Manage agency partners and work with in-house creative team to develop brand campaigns
  • Partner closely with the media team on our media strategy and execution, providing a point of view on measurement and KPIs.
  • Own our brand health tracker in the US and other key markets
  • Partner with product + design teams to deliver timely and relevant insights to influence road map


  • 8-10+ years of experience
  • Experience overseeing qual and quant research for brand strategy. Bonus points if you’ve led the research yourself.
  • Background in marketing/brand strategy and execution - you know how to build a unique strategy that fits together like a puzzle
  • Firm understanding of customer-facing marketing channels and how they work together, and how they drive impact across the funnel
  • Experience driving action in an organization based on customer insights and data
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and influence others
  • Comfort in ambiguity. You’re confident in your ability to pick up projects quickly, learn on the job, independently solve problems, and to figure things out even when there aren’t explicit instructions. We look for team players who are quick to pitch in when something needs to get done—even if it’s not listed in your job description.
  • Ability to set a plan, and manage to it. You know how to get everyone on the same page with direction and strategy, then lead a cross-functional team through checkpoints to get it done.
