About the role

We are seeking a creative Social Media Content Manager to create content for our social media presence on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. As a core member of our growing marketing team, you are someone who lives on the For You Page and loves creating content that engages, entertains, and inspires.

The ideal candidate is highly creative and self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, and collaborates well with others.

  You will...

• Create entertaining, iconic content for Duolingo’s social media that people want to share
• Conceptualize, script, produce, and shoot short-form video content for our social channels, primarily TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube
• Understand culture and fandom, and be able to catapult Duolingo into the online conversation in surprising, funny ways
• Work on large-scale content campaigns ranging from content with creators, to scripted content with our animated characters
• Work cross-functionally with the rest of the marketing team, business development, and design studio to help promote different product features, launches, and initiatives like podcasts, course updates, and HR initiatives
• Evolve our short-form video strategy with an eye towards quantitative analysis: run lots of content experiments and iterate on the ones that work

  You have...

• 2-3 years social media experience at major brand or organization
• Video production experience – you’re intimately familiar with in-app creator tools across social platforms and know your way around a video editing software like Adobe Premiere
• In-tune with social trends, even before they hit; ability to respond ASAP to trends/memes to capitalize on those opportunities
• Solid interpersonal skills and passion for engaging with our social media communities
• Ability to relocate to and work in Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY

  Exceptional candidates will have...

• Proficiency in multiple languages
• The ability to dance in a mascot suit

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

$96,100—$157,600 USD
