Salary: £65k-£75k depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Contract type: 15 month FTC

Location: Office Base is Cardiff Central Square. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

We are seeking a Senior Service Delivery and Development Manager to join our Payroll team on a FTC basis. The role is based in Cardiff and with some flexibility, i.e. hybrid working.

The BBC Payroll service delivery team, work with our third-party providers to ensure accurate payments to BBC individuals, and that payments are made on time.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Service Delivery and Development Manager for Payroll will be responsible for the delivery of the UK Payroll service lines of BBC Finance, which is delivered by the outsource service provider, as well as responsible for the day to day delivery of an effective, high quality and consistent payroll operation, supporting the development of a culture of operational excellence and continuous process improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

•    Understanding of UK Payroll

•    Understanding of payroll control accounts and balance sheet reconciliations

•    Payroll BAU tasks, sign off payrolls, running of reports, queries

•    Understanding of Compliance & UK legislation

•    Requesting ad hoc reports for payroll

Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

•    Previous experience of working as part of a payroll team, a clear understanding of UK payroll legislation, with some international payroll experience if possible.

•    Experience in a service delivery environment - ensuring that exacting standards of quality, commercial outcomes, process/systems, communications, and customer experience are met.

•    Previous involvement in customer support and dealing with queries

•    Strong analytical skills and competent user of Microsoft Excel

•    Strong communication skills to third parties

Desirable:

Minimum CiPP qualified in payroll management
