Role Overview

Are you ready to take full ownership of an SEO team and play a key role in its growth? We're looking for a bilingual (FR/EN) leader who can guide, motivate, and develop a team—while also supporting business strategy and operational excellence.

You’ll be responsible for the SEO team—its development, performance, and well-being:

  • You’ll lead client account growth and support sales efforts.
  • You’ll ensure SEO deliverables consistently meet our high quality standards.

Our Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a bilingual (FR/EN) SEO leader—both strategic and people-focused—with strong agency experience. They are passionate about growing talent and driving results, excelling in team management, planning, and delivering high-quality SEO projects. Comfortable navigating both technical and business challenges, they know how to turn business objectives into effective SEO strategies, while fostering a collaborative, caring, and performance-driven team culture. Curious, detail-oriented, and motivated by innovation (AI, automation, evolving best practices), they are ready to take the lead and actively shape the future of our SEO team and practice.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
  • Take full ownership of the SEO team: daily operations, motivation, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Support and develop each team member through 1:1s, feedback, and growth plans.
  • Plan team capacity, track time utilization, and allocate resources based on priorities.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for new team members.
  • Foster team culture and engagement, promoting collaboration, performance, and a supportive environment.
  • Work closely with our Technical Practice Lead to ensure a high level of expertise and rigor within the team.
Client Strategy & Operational Excellence
  • Oversee the delivery of SEO roadmaps, audits, recommendations, and reporting.
  • Be the “quality signature” across strategic, methodological, and operational aspects.
  • Translate clients’ business objectives into concrete, high-performing SEO strategies.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to key clients (C-level, marketing, e-commerce).
  • Contribute to innovation in areas such as content, internal linking, AI, EEAT, and more.
Sales Collaboration & Growth
  • Work closely with the sales team to support business development efforts.
  • Participate in pre-sales meetings (strategy discussions, audits, SEO recommendations).
  • Contribute to estimates, SEO sections of pitches, presentations, and sales materials.
  • Track the SEO pipeline and identify opportunities for growth and new services.
  • Represent the SEO practice in internal strategic discussions.
Continuous Improvement & SEO Product Roadmap
  • Co-develop the SEO product roadmap (tools, processes, automation, AI integration).
  • Propose and implement improvements to boost team performance and deliverable quality.
  • Stay actively informed on SEO trends and best practices.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in SEO, including 2+ years in a team leadership role, ideally within an agency.
  • Experience in sales support or pre-sales is a major asset.
  • Strong command of technical, on-page, off-page, and content SEO.
  • Proficiency with key tools: Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, GA4, GSC, GTM, and CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Magento).
  • Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken, to effectively collaborate with bilingual clients and a national/international team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Recognized for your human leadership: coaching, feedback, team culture, and motivation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Google Analytics, GA4, and Hubspot certifications are a plus.
