We’re a dynamic, independent studio of over 1200 passionate employees, with studios in Toronto (Behaviour Toronto), Rotterdam (Behaviour Rotterdam) and in the UK (Behaviour UK–North & South). Our day to day revolves around two core business focuses: Services and Original Games. Our Services team collaborates with gaming and entertainment giants like Disney, Sony, Activision, and Nintendo, delivering exceptional work-for-hire development and pioneering immersive location-based entertainment (LBE). Meanwhile, our Original Games unit pushes our creative limits, with our signature IPs, including the iconic Dead by Daylight. Join us and be a part of the future of interactive entertainment!

We value folks of all ages, sex, ethnicity, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, civil status, disability, or any other protected characteristics as per applicable law.

Behaviour is committed to creating player-first experiences, and the Senior User Research Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring our games resonate deeply with our audience. By conducting in-depth user studies and applying qualitative and mixed-method approaches, you’ll uncover rich insights that illuminate player motivations, behaviors, and experiences, guiding design, product strategy, and overall player engagement.

In this role, you’ll make an impact by planning and facilitating user research sessions, synthesizing findings, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. Your ability to interpret nuanced feedback will influence creative, technical, and strategic decisions, helping us craft gameplay experiences that truly captivate and connect with players worldwide.

In this role you will:

  • Prepare and conduct user tests, analyze results, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with game design, product management, and other researchers to integrate insights into game development and product strategies.
  • Develop and maintain research protocols, including observation grids, interview guides, and questionnaires.
  • Apply a variety of qualitative and quantitative methodologies (e.g., usability testing, surveys, longitudinal studies).
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing through documentation and workshops.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in user research (games industry experience is a plus).
  • Strong fundamentals in research methodologies (mix-method approaches, survey design, data analysis) and UX principles.
  • Master’s degree in social science, psychology, UX design, marketing or equivalent.
  • Strong ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the video games industry is a prerequisite.
