Freelancers
Freelancers are eligible to apply for an internal role if they are on a Worker Contract and they have worked continuously for 6 months. Job Introduction

As a Senior Tester, you will be embedded within one of the TV & Devices engineering teams to deliver world class TV platform experiences to millions of audience members every day! An intuitive and engaging product experience is integral the audience’s enjoyment of the rich content that we offer and the sense of value that they get from the BBC.
The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, driven and value collaborative working. You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring software quality throughout. You enjoy thinking outside the box, and have a proactive desire to learn, grow, develop, and support in evolving and elevating the test discipline as well as wanting to work in a high-performing team, leading testing for complex and critical projects. Alongside this, we would look for you to be an active participant in fostering a collaborative culture throughout the organisation through active dissemination of knowledge, coaching, mentoring and inspiring other members of the test team.
You will be engaged in all aspects of SDLC, including architectural changes, designs, development, testing and delivery, working closely with discipline leads. Whilst demonstrating audience advocacy throughout the delivery lifecycle, you will be reviewing new features to be implemented and be held accountable for leading and contributing in all related testing activities, ensuring delivery of high quality experiences to our audiences!

Main Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and execution of Test approaches that meets complex product needs#
- Active participation in helping improve your team’s software development methodologies
- Mentor and coach other testers to help build knowledge, skills and expertise within the department
- Contributing towards test process improvements and effectiveness through experimentation
- Working closely with test leadership to deliver and execute Test Strategy to evolve and elevate the test discipline
- Active engagement with wider test community forums to learn and share knowledge
- Collaborating in shaping and implementation of test automation frameworks and delivery pipelines
- Working with your team to define and ensure appropriate level of test coverage both automation & manual
- Work with AWS systems and monitoring tools such as Cloudwatch, Piano analytics or equivalent
- Taking ownership of Defect management for small/medium projects, including triaging, debugging, analysing or hypothesising towards root cause
- Ensuring ownership of test environment and test data requirements for testing tasks and projects
- Learn new technologies and apply your learning to projects where appropriate
- Perform ad-hoc exploratory testing to support new features
Are you the right candidate

- Strong leadership of tasks, small projects spanning across multiple teams
- Experience in testing Web/Mobile &/Or TV platforms/devices
- Experience in testing non-functional aspects - Performance, Load, Accessibility & Automation including Playwright
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud based technologies including AWS infrastructure as well as other CI/CD tooling e.g. JIRA, Git
- Experience working in multi-discipline teams, ideally using Agile methodologies (sprints, scrum)
- Experience with JavaScript/ TypeScript
