As a Senior Technical User Interface Artist on Dead by Daylight, you will develop, document, and support the UI art pipelines and techniques used in the game. You use leverage visual scripting, Unreal Engine 5, as well as your knowledge of materials, shaders, and animation to bridge the technical, artistic and gameplay programming aspects.
Highly organized and structured, you will help streamline and communicate relevant information through visual means to guide players through a rewarding gameplay experience. You will also work in close collaboration with gameplay programmers, UI Programmers, and other Technical UI Artists to create an engaging player experience.
In this role you will :
- Propose innovative solutions to technical and artistic UI challenges, contributing to the creation of high quality visuals.
- Develop and optimize existing pipelines by implementing and introducing efficient production guidelines for UI content.
- Train and support the team in understanding and applying pipelines and processes.
- Work closely with other developers and designers to continuously create and improve the in-game user interface.
- Support gameplay flow implementation by setting up triggers, animation sequences, and UI states.
- Leverage knowledge in shaders and visual scripting to develop and enhance the user interface.
What we're looking for :
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the video game industry in UI Programmer or UI Artist roles, including at least 3 years as a Technical UI Artist.
- Experience with Materials, Blueprints and visual scripting is essential.
- Experience with Programming and/or graphic design and adobe.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas.
- Experience with the Unreal game engine.
Nice to have:
- Experience collaborating with external partners and reviewing/validating assets.
- An up-to-date portfolio, for more artistically oriented profiles.
