Following our successful $59M Series D funding and $1.2B valuation, Oyster is accelerating our mission to remove barriers to global employment and we’re seeking a visionary Senior Sales Manager in this first-line leadership role to lead our fully-distributed team across the Americas. In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead our sales efforts in the rapidly evolving distributed work industry. You'll set ambitious goals, recruit and mentor top talent, and shape strategies to drive revenue growth. Leveraging Salesforce CRM and data-driven insights, you'll optimize our sales processes and turn market trends into actionable improvements.

Sales Technology Stack: We are fortunate to have a superb tech stack, including SFDC, Salesloft, MadKudu, ReachDesk, Gong, Trumpet, MEDDIC, with any experience in these tools and processes a bonus.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with Oyster's overall business objectives
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to drive expansion across the Americas
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to align sales strategies with product roadmaps and go-to-market plans
- Represent Oyster at industry events and conferences, establishing the company as a thought leader in the distributed workspace
Team Leadership and Development
- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing, diverse sales team across multiple time zones
- Implement robust performance management systems, including setting KPIs and conducting regular performance reviews
- Create and oversee professional development programs to nurture talent and support career progression within the organization
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and continuous learning within the sales organization
Sales Operations and Performance
- Oversee the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure and handoff to account management
- Implement and optimize sales methodologies (MEDDIC) to improve win rates and accelerate sales cycles
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations to refine sales processes, tools, and technologies for maximum efficiency
- Conduct regular sales forecasting, pipeline and deal reviews, ensuring accuracy and reliability of projections
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and generate high-quality leads
- Collaborate with Product Management to provide market feedback and influence product development
- Work with Legal and Finance teams to negotiate complex deals and ensure compliance with company policies
- Collaborate with our Onboarding Success team to ensure smooth transition and engagement of Team Members to the oyster platform
- Work closely with Customer Success to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention
Analytics and Reporting
- Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize sales performance
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to its full potential, ensuring data integrity and deriving actionable insights
Core Requirements
Experience and Expertise
- 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 3 years managing distributed teams in a high-growth SaaS environment
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets and scaling sales organizations
- Deep understanding of the global HR tech landscape and distributed work trends; an understanding of the EOR model is a plus.
- Extensive experience with SMB and mid-market sales, including complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- [BONUS] Demonstrated success in selling into new markets and launching new products or services
Skills and Abilities
- Strategic thinking and ability to translate high-level business objectives into actionable sales plans
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, Gong and experience of the MEDDIC methodology would be a bonus.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to articulate complex value propositions to executives
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages commonly used in the Americas is a plus
