Only considering candidates eligible to work in Berlin, Germany ⚠️

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer – Developer Experience to join us remotely or in our Berlin office.

We are creating a team focused on enabling engineers to deliver more quickly, securely, and intelligently. This team collaborates closely with another Platform team that manages our cloud infrastructure, ensuring that developer experience initiatives are aligned with operational reliability and platform stability.

As a senior engineer on our remote-first Platform team, you will lead initiatives that improve developer workflows, design and deliver reliable CI/CD pipelines, enforce testing best practices, and explore new ways of working with AI-assisted development and workflows across the organization.

You will have a direct impact on engineering efficiency, software quality, and developer experience, while supporting colleagues in understanding operational best practices and fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture. Through your work, you’ll enable engineers to ship software faster and more reliably, ultimately supporting Ecosia’s search engine and climate action around the world.

Your opportunity to make an impact

You will create changes that directly improve product development and developer experience, helping engineers deliver high-quality software faster while shaping the way we work:

  • Explore and implement AI-assisted development and automation to reduce repetitive work and improve workflows
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to adopt best practices and platform tools, aligning work with business needs
  • Mentor peers and promote platform standards, helping engineers grow and improving developer experience across the organization

You’ll be addressing questions such as:

  • How can we make CI/CD pipelines reliable, scalable, and easy for teams to use?
  • How can we improve developer workflows and “golden paths” to boost productivity?
  • How can we enforce quality gates and testing to ensure robust, maintainable software?
  • How can we improve our collaborative and inclusive culture, in alignment with our core values?

Your profile:

  • You have 6+ years of experience delivering software and platform solutions
  • You solve complex technical problems and help teams adopt best practices
  • You have built and operated CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
  • You have experience in designing and integrating automated testing strategies and quality gates
  • You have applied AI-assisted development or automation tools to improve workflows
  • You are passionate about improving developer experience and productivity
