Sainsbury's Tech - Senior .NET Engineer – DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that underpin our supply chain. You’ll work in a collaborative, agile environment where your ideas and expertise will directly influence how we deliver for millions of customers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and building robust, scalable software solutions using the Azure .NET stack to support logistics operations.
  • Driving the technical roadmap in collaboration with engineering leads and aligning with broader CTO strategies.
  • Applying deep knowledge of Azure services and DevOps practices to optimise cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Exploring emerging technologies to improve engineering effectiveness and logistics innovation.
  • Automating infrastructure deployment (Infrastructure as Code) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
  • Managing cloud infrastructure costs and ensuring efficient resource utilisation.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong programming skills in C# and a solid understanding of both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Proven experience in software design, cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and security best practices.
  • Deep understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure and the ability to guide design decisions across engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security and containerization(Docker, Kubernetes)
  • A passion for DevSecOps and delivering end-to-end solutions that meet customer needs.
  • A growth mindset with curiosity for emerging technologies and a drive to continuously improve.
  • A collaborative and empathetic approach to working with cross-functional teams and supporting peers.
