Behaviour is seeking a Senior Lighting Artist to join our talented Dead by Daylight team. If you have experience crafting immersive lighting for games across multiple platforms, we want you to be a key contributor to our exciting project. Your expertise in lighting composition, mood setting, and technical optimization will play a vital role in defining the game's atmosphere. With a strong balance of artistic vision and game design principles, you’ll enhance the player experience through creating beautiful lighting solutions. Your autonomy, resourcefulness, and keen eye for detail will be essential in shaping the visual identity of our world.

In this role you will :

  • Work with the technical and art teams to develop the visual style and validate the quality of the lighting.
  • Study the game documentation to understand the experience we want to offer our players.
  • Define workflows and create visual benchmarks.
  • Be familiar with visual references to respect the project’s artistic direction, and make suggestions regarding atmosphere and lighting.
  • Design lighting systems that will support the visual style and gameplay.
  • Maintain a consistent level of quality while respecting artistic and technical constraints.
  • Provide feedback on developing lighting pipelines and tools by tracking and reporting progress regularly.

What we’re looking for:

  • Professional experience designing lighting for games and solid technical knowledge of how to create runtime lighting in game engines.
  • Strong understanding of art fundamentals and design including composition and colour theory.
  • Strong understanding or PBR and PBL fundamentals.
  • Very good knowledge of rendering, both offline and real-time.
  • Understanding of Global Illumination, Lumen, or other advanced lighting technologies.
