Only considering candidates eligible to work in Auckland, New Zealand ⚠️
About Auror
At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.
Founded in New Zealand 11 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.
In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Insights Analyst who is eager to work with a modern data platform as part of our insights team. The team is part of the wider Data and AI team, which are based all over the world. However, our core team is based in Auckland and this role is based in our Auckland HQ. We would also consider New Zealand candidates working remotely.
You will be well versed in data extraction, insight generation and analysis to solve business problems and provide our customers high quality actionable insights.
You will be quick to understand customer data and how it operates within their business context which will be essential when providing exceptional support to our community of Retailers and Police by turning data into information, and information into useful insights to help them make better business decisions.
You will work closely with members of the Customer Squad on self-serve dashboards and customer presentations. With the Marketing team you will be able to provide global and regional trends and design graphs and tables for use in marketing and comms materials. Additionally, the Data team partners closely with different segments of the Product Squad to help develop new product offerings and measure metrics during development and launch. The Insights team will also be branching out into new areas with some work that uses machine learning and A/B testing over the coming months. We’d expect initially your time would be spent getting familiar with our data, before moving on to working with teams across the organization.
What you will work on:
- Respond to data requests. Our data requests are varied and can come from both internal stakeholders and external customers, and typically involve telling a story with data, beyond the dashboards and tables available within the Auror platform.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and data visualizations to our key customers. You may be asked to present these results directly to customers.
- Creating and maintaining a workbook library to support repeatable and scalable customer insights.
- Partner with product streams to develop new products for the platform such as vehicle detections and investigations.
- Investigate connections and trends within the data on the platform, helping to create more quality intelligence for retailers and the police.
This role reports to Mitchell Christensen, Lead Insights Analyst
I joined Auror because I wanted to work for an international company on cutting edge technologies that works to reduce violence across the country and the world. I currently sit within the data team and work with teams across the organization to leverage our data to help build new product offerings and find trends and insights. These go on to be shared with organizations and media across the globe, and have an impact to reduce crime and violence. At university I studied applied mathematics with a focus on financial mathematics. This led me to work in banking regulation before making the transition to tech 4 years ago. Working in tech I found my passion for working on compelling problems that require technical skills and solutions. I enjoy working with enthusiastic people who are motivated by learning every day and using the knowledge they gain to solve problems. Check out my LinkedIn here!
