Kickstarter is looking for a Senior senior-level Infrastructure Engineer to support the infrastructure that allows our platform to operate at a planetary scale, helping to bring hundreds of thousands of creative projects to life. You’ll work with a small team of dedicated engineers to assure that our systems are healthy, automated, and secure.

About the Team

Kickstarter’s Infrastructure Engineering team supports the monolithic user-facing application that several product engineering teams are contributing to, as well as a handful of polyglot services that support that application. We are dedicated to assuring that engineers across the organization have the right tools to best understand and interact with code in our production environments: from continuous delivery pipelines to alerting and monitoring.

Our team works to ensure visibility and transparency into Kickstarter’s technical operations and usage, doing all that we can to make sure that Kickstarter can continue to operate continuously in the face of disaster or disruptions.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Design, build and maintain core cloud infrastructure that supports hundreds of thousands of concurrent users around the world.
  • Investigate new tools and services, document your findings, contribute to engineering processes, and institutional knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on improvements for both development and production environments.
  • Contribute to continuous learning and share knowledge with other team members and across the engineering organization.
  • Consider the impacts of your work through building quality code, testing patterns, code readability, and documentation.

About You:

  • You have comprehensive professional experience working with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and/or Linux in Azure.
  • You have some professional experience writing and maintaining testable code in Ruby, Javascript, or Python.
  • You have a familiarity, or strong interest in learning, Terraform, Docker, and serverless functions.
  • You are able to undertake projects on your own, as well as pair with team members and share work across teams.
  • You care about your coworkers and want to make their experience better.
  • You’re excited about conducting complicated work behind the scenes without any interruption to our creators or backers.

What You'll Enjoy:

  • Fridays off! Kickstarter is currently experimenting with a 4-day/32-hour workweek pilot so that we can all enjoy long weekends

  • A fully remote workforce with plenty of opportunities to get to know your colleagues

  • 100% employer-paid health plan offerings

  • 16 paid vacation days, 10 sick days, and a company-wide winter break between Christmas and New Years

  • 25 volunteer hours each year to give back to your community

  • 16 weeks of parental leave plus fertility/family planning resources

  • Incredibly talented and inspiring colleagues who know how to blend their creative endeavors into their work
