Senior Gameplay Animator (First Person)

Job Description:

As a Senior Gameplay Animator, you will be responsible for creating high-quality first-person animations that define the iconic feel of Rainbow Six Siege. You will work on both first-person viewmodel animations and their third-person replication, ensuring consistency, responsiveness, and immersion. Your work will have a direct impact on player experience.

What you will do:

  • Design and implement animation systems for first-person player view, as well as their third-person counterpart.
  • Create expressive, polished keyframe animations while adhering to the animation art direction and design constraints.
  • Work with motion capture data for third-person animations, adapting it to the game's style and technical constraints.
  • Export and integrate your animations into the engine in collaboration with technical animators, designers, and programmers.
  • Collaborate closely with other animators, directors, and developers to deliver your features on time and at the expected quality level.
  • Participate in the creative process by producing mockups or prototypes when necessary.
  • Be responsible for the final in-game feel of your animations—that is our main quality criterion.
  • Work in a team, share your ideas, and welcome those of others. You enjoy solving complex problems in a creative and elegant way.
  • Mentor and support more junior team members.

Systems include, but are not limited to:

  • FPS combat experience.
  • Operators.
  • Event content.
  • Core R&D gameplay.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in game animation (or equivalent).
  • Participated in the release of at least one game.
  • First-person game animation experience is a significant asset.
  • Excellent keyframe animation skills.
  • Familiarity with motion capture workflows.
  • Proficiency in animation software such as MotionBuilder, 3ds Max, or Maya.
  • Ability to communicate well with other disciplines and contribute to the team's visual improvement.
  • A passion for pushing the boundaries of animation while working in synergy with the team.
