Senior Frontend Developer

What your day will look like at MavTek:

• Participate in agile ceremonies to share the latest information, ensure alignment with business goals, and identify any obstacles that may impede the team’s progress
• Manage and resolve sequential tickets within the sprint cycle, including frontend tasks requiring expertise in Next.js
• Spend time reviewing pull requests, provide feedback to team members, and ensure that assigned tasks progress on schedule
• Participate in team meetings to discuss technical design, strategize and plan upcoming projects, and collaborate on solution design with a constant focus on performance, component reusability, usability/accessibility, planning, and execution
• Own features and projects in production: define observability, provide success metrics, create alerts, and respond quickly to incidents based on impact level

About you:

• 7 to 10 years of experience with at least 5 years as a frontend software developer
• Comfortable developing major features in Next.js and React.js without supervision; significant experience coding in TypeScript
• Experience delivering pixel-perfect UIs with a mobile-first approach; can list pros and cons of working with shared components
• Believe in the value of testing (unit, integration, acceptance, etc.) and have experience with one or more testing libraries
• Embrace the "you build it, you own it" mindset and understand that responsibilities and ownership continue after code ships to production
• Knowledge of AWS services and/or backend experience with Node.js (asset)
• Experience working on a high-traffic website (asset)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (asset)

Language requirements:

French is required for positions permanently based in Quebec so that the incumbent can communicate as needed with colleagues and vendors in Quebec. French training is offered to any permanent Quebec-based hire without strong French skills.

Another language is required to communicate with clients, partners, and colleagues primarily located outside Quebec. The company has only one client in Quebec but provides technical support to subscribers almost all located outside Quebec and must therefore constantly use another language to communicate externally.
