Position Description

As a Senior First-Person Gameplay Animator, you will be responsible for creating animations and animation systems for the main character in first-person view (FPS).

What you’ll do:

  • Create first-person view animations aligned with the visual language defined by animation direction and game design constraints.
  • Produce high-quality keyframe animations based on various video references.
  • Process and enhance motion capture data used as a foundation for certain animation systems.
  • Fine-tune animation data with high precision, taking into account game engine requirements.
  • Export and integrate animations according to technical guidelines, collaborating with technical direction, technical animation, programming, and design.
  • Test, analyze, and revise animation systems directly in-game.
  • Work closely with animators, animation direction, programming, and design to deliver work that meets quality and scheduling objectives.
  • Take responsibility for the final in-game feel, a key criterion for evaluating animation quality.

Qualifications

What you bring to the team:

  • A minimum of 5 years of video game animation experience.
  • Proven expertise in 3C animation and first-person view (FPS) animation systems.
  • Excellent mastery of motion capture data processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and high visual quality standards.
  • A collaborative and open approach, favoring compromise when faced with complex challenges.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and manage production-related adjustments.
  • Good understanding of technical constraints related to engine integration.
  • Comfort working in a multidisciplinary environment, respecting both artistic and technical visions.
  • Knowledge of MotionBuilder is considered an asset.
  • Participation in a published AAA game is a plus.
