We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Payments Engineering team and drive our next phase of growth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6 talented software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Oversee core backend systems that are crucial to the e-commerce checkout process, ensuring 99.99% uptime with the goal of reaching 99.9999% in the next few years.
  • Balance priorities between new feature development, stability, and system resilience.
  • Act as an owner of mission-critical systems, leading technical vision and investment discussions in partnership with the product team.
  • Be hands-on in your first year to gain deep knowledge of the systems and guide the team effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, analysts, and data scientists to drive precision and innovation in our solutions.
  • Lead efforts to improve customer onboarding, ensuring smooth and quick integration of our payment products.

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, with a strong background in backend development and mission-critical systems (4+ years hands-on).
  • Track record of hiring, leading, and developing top-tier engineering talent.
  • Strong ability to evaluate technical investments based on ROI, balancing business value and effort.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across product, data science, and engineering teams.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

It'd be cool if you also have:

  • Experience with Node.js, Postgres (AWS RDS), and Redis (AWS ElastiCache).
  • Previous experience scaling businesses in Payments or Fintech sectors.
  • Experience growing secondary product lines to large-scale success.
