Join the Tyler Grange ecology tribe! We are looking for a Senior to help us with a specialism in birds, here you'll lead exciting projects, overseeing everything from:

Ecological Impact Assessments

Habitats Regulations Assessments

Mitigation Strategies

You should be adept at scoping, designing and leading ecological surveys. Be comfortable to forge strong bonds with our clients to win work for the team and yourself, to build a standout client and site portfolio. We’re also looking for a leader to mentor our budding consultants and graduates.

Expect diverse tasks. Dive into meaty projects, collaborate cross-discipline, and adjust on the fly to nature's whims as an ecologist. While the pace is lively, there are moments to pause and reflect. No two days are the same.

At Tyler Grange, we value innovation over convention; the usual route isn't always our chosen path. We care deeply and celebrate loudly. We're one big family always looking for the next big opportunity. Every day is a blend of meaningful work, good laughs, and honest conversations. If you thrive in this kind of setting, then you’ll fit right in.

We're not just part of the ecological landscape—we're elevating it. To join us in setting new standards, you need:

  • Top academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences
  • To be a CIEEM member working towards Chartership
  • To have a specialism in Ornithology, with a track record of scoping and undertaking breeding and non-breeding bird surveys for large sites
  • Experience in Habitat Regulations Assessments and stakeholder engagement with Natural England, and design of mitigation strategies
  • In-depth understanding of the legislative and planning policy framework
  • Excellent survey skills including extended Phase I/UKHabs, specialised species surveys
  • Experience liaising with clients, statutory bodies, and LPAs
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity for both clients and peers
  • Robust and precise report writing and reviewing capabilities
  • Exceptional project management skills: leading, mentoring, and making sure projects are delivered on time and within budget, all while exceeding client expectations
  • A proven track record in business development and securing your own projects
  • An approach that resonates with our values and fosters collaborative working
  • A commitment to the pursuit of excellence
  • A full UK driving licence

Your journey at Tyler Grange is enriched by the amazing people you’ll team up with, both in and outside of our tribe. We’re like-minded souls who cheer on our mates, cherish our clients, and sprinkle goodness back into our communities. Join the adventure.
