Senior Internal Audit Manager – Data Analytics
Permanent (Hybrid)
The Opportunity
QBE Insurance are currently recruiting for a Senior Internal Audit Manage – Data Analytics to join a well-established internal audit team in our London office. In this role you will be leading the development of the audit data analytics strategy within Group Internal Audit (GIA), integrating data analytics methods into internal audit processes, and providing guidance and support to non-DA specialists. The role is also expected to collaborate with internal and external data analytics specialist resources where necessary to deliver the plan. As a leader in the GIA function, you will play a key role in enhancing audit quality and efficiency through innovative data analysis techniques.
Your New Role
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data analytics strategy for the GIA function, aligning with organizational objectives and audit standards.
- Promote the adoption of data analytics tools and methodologies, ensuring the GIA function remains up to date with current innovations in audit practices.
- Develop guidelines and frameworks for the usage of data analytics tools, ensuring consistent, efficient, and compliant practices across the GIA function.
- Establish standards for data acquisition, handling, and management, ensuring data integrity, security, and adherence to regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Play a key role in both the development and ongoing enhancement of the department's data analytics capabilities, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with best practices.
- Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders across the organization to ensure data analytics efforts are aligned with business needs and audit priorities.
- Lead the evaluation and reporting of data analytics findings to senior management, providing insights that inform strategic decisions and improve business processes.
- Champion GIA’s data analytics capabilities, contributing to thought leadership and strategic initiatives that enhance the organization’s audit and risk management practices.
- Ensure clear communication and knowledge sharing with all relevant stakeholders, fostering a data-driven culture within the GIA function.
Your new role
- Significant experience in data analysis and management with a background in leading data analytics teams and use of data analytics tools, software, and methodologies, with a willingness to drive innovation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of building relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of management.
- Dedicated to continuous learning and development, both for self and for the team, in the evolving field of data analytics.
- Awareness of internal auditing standards, governance frameworks and risk assessment practices.
- Fundamental knowledge of risk and internal control concepts and experience in applying them to plan, perform, and report on the evaluation of business functions processes, risks and controls.
- Products and concepts relating to the insurance industry.
