Senior Credit Analyst

Scope and Purpose

The main goal of this role is to assess the creditworthiness of potential or existing borrowers and make recommendations to facilitate and assist the Head of Credit and the Credit Committee in their decision-making processes. In addition to handling the normal flow of credit transactions, the senior analyst will also be assigned to handle complex transactions (e.g., acquisition financing, cross-border structures, restructuring financing). The credit analyst should also be familiar with the various on-going credit initiatives related to the Bank. A listing of further responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Prepare Credit Notes focused on financial and operational analysis of the (potential) borrowers, as well as credit analysis with objective of proposing credit facilities;

• Perform a timely annual credit and internal rating reviews of existing borrowers/customers and submit them to the Credit Committee and ISP Credit Department;

• Gather relevant information on existing and prospective borrowers: Annual/Quarterly reports, projections, press articles, information services (i.e. Moody's, S&P, Bloomberg, etc.), Information Memorandums provided by Agent banks, Investment bank analyst reports and other numerous sources available online and in association with the relevant Relationship Manager (RM);

• Attend bank meetings, including roadshows when applicable, and client meetings;

• Prepare credit analysis and proposals, including transaction summary/Company background and in-depth quantitative and qualitative credit and financial analysis, elaboration of financial statements, financial projections, internal spreadsheets, credit ratings assignment of new and existing borrowers which, upon completion, will be reviewed by Head of Credit and forwarded to Bank Credit Committee and/or ISP Credit Department for approval;

• Make recommendations concerning the amount of credit exposure that is deemed prudent under current circumstances and according to ISP guidelines, and, where feasible, the structure of the credit facility, in terms of financial covenants, guarantees, etc.;

• Work with the RMs in preparing credit proposals, periodic reviews, request for waivers;

• Perform any other credit-related task as requested by the Head of Credit from time to time;

Required Experience

7-10 years of experience in credit analysis of large Brazilian or International banks focused on the Corporate Banking segment.

Competencies Required

• Ability to focus on tasks and execute them accurately and timely; • Ability to build partnership within the credit team, with peers in the head office, and, with the commercial and supporting teams; • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks, accordingly.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

• Minimum bachelor's degree, preferably, in economics, accounting or business administration with focus in Finance; • Good written and verbal communication capabilities in Portuguese and English; • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; • Solid knowledge of the local Credit market and experience with financial analysis techniques, including financial projections; • Deep familiarity with the Brazilian credit products; • Knowledge of the banking regulatory environment in Brazil.
