Job description

As a Senior Cinematic Animator, you will provide character (body and facial), camera and object animations in line with the Director's guidelines. These animations may come from motion capture or be done by keyframe.

What you will do

• Apply animation principles to create high-quality animations while optimizing them to meet technical constraints and making requested changes according to direction.
• Work closely with the director, narrative designers and cinematic designers to understand the expected quality, intentions and engine capabilities to anticipate how animations will appear in-game.
• Accurately render actors' performances under the direction of the animation supervisor and the director.
• Provide visibility on work progress via production tracking and/or communication tools.
• Master dialogue animation systems and participate in their improvement.
• Be involved in motion capture shoots (references, storyboards, animation listings, requirements, constraints, etc.).
• Verify the results of your work in the game engine.
• Identify and report potential issues (technical, artistic, delivery deadlines).

Qualifications

What you bring to the team

• Experience as a film animator or cinematic animator on a AAA game, and ideally involvement through the full production phase to delivery.
• Experience with motion capture.
• A strong sense of composition (camera movement, framing, etc.).
• Familiarity with Autodesk animation software (MotionBuilder / Maya).
• Communication skills that allow you to communicate easily within your team and with other departments.
• Proactivity and a desire to research and improve existing workflows.
• An interest in cinematic language.
• English proficiency sufficient to work in an international environment.
