About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior BIM Technician to join our growing Cardiff team.

This is an exciting period in the Hoare Lea Cardiff journey, including the recent move to our new City Centre Office. As a Senior BIM Technician, you will deliver data-rich 3D models & 2D engineering drawings produced using Autodesk Revit. You will work on a varied portfolio of projects that span a cross-section of sectors with specific local focuses on Healthcare, Schools, Higher Education, Commercial, Residential and Leisure. You will be supported by key individuals within the engineering team. In addition, the wider Hoare Lea BIM Community and Digital Engineering Team provide fantastic support.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

•    Take ownership of defined modelling tasks and deliver high-quality Revit models and 2D outputs.

•    Set up MEP project models, views, sheets, tags, and manage model health.

•    Actively coordinate services using clash reports and resolve issues in a multi-disciplinary environment.

•    Review and integrate external models, producing change review documentation as required.

•    Participate in internal and external model reviews, giving and receiving structured feedback.

•    Assist in delivering training sessions and mentoring junior team members.

•    Apply automation tools such as Dynamo and RF Tools in project workflows.

•    Support project team use of CDE systems (inc. BIM 360 / ACC) and understand change/information management processes.

About you

With an understanding of Revit software and a basic understanding of the building services industry, you will be self-motivated, eager to learn and will be highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

•    Proficient in Autodesk Revit with solid MEP project experience.

•    Able to manage modelling responsibilities independently and support coordinated project delivery.

•    Familiar with clash detection, CDE workflows, and automation tools (e.g., Dynamo).

•    Willing to mentor junior staff and contribute to team and firmwide initiatives.
