The Senior Behavioural Strategist is a commercially minded digital marketing professional with a strong foundation in behavioural science and behavioural economics. This role sits within the Behavioural Science and Innovation team at HFC and plays a key part in shaping and advancing the agency’s behavioural science proposition.
This individual brings a deep understanding of the drivers behind online consumer behaviour and their impact on customer experience and marketing effectiveness. The Behavioural Strategist works closely with internal teams and clients to embed behavioural thinking into strategy, execution, and optimisation across all touchpoints.
The role is central to delivering impactful marketing strategies that drive client growth. It also champions behavioural science as a unique selling point for HFC, influencing the agency’s approach to creativity, media, content, and customer experience. Known internally as one of the experts in behavioural science, behaviour change and understanding consumer needs and motivations, the Behavioural Strategist collaborates across departments including UX, Creative, CX, Paid Media, SEO, and more, to ensure insight-led performance is at the heart of every project.


We are looking for…
We are looking for a passionate advocate of the application of behavioural science in marketing, who appreciates the impact using BeSci has and inspires others to try new approaches through a BeSci lens. They love to collaborate, encouraging others to think in different ways to incorporate behavioural science principles into workflows and deliverables, enhancing client projects, and improving customer experiences. This person is a mixed-methods researcher who can confidently apply up to date research methods, principles and ideas in behavioural science to the agency’s approach, building on a foundation of experimentation. They have a masters in behavioural science or behavioural economics and at least 4 years industry experience, applying behavioural science in a marketing context through UX, CRO, performance marketing or similar.

Key responsibilities:
- Deliver projects including persona development, customer segmentation models, customer journey mapping, decision making maps, email journey auditing and UX auditing
- Applying behavioural science models and frameworks such as COM-B, JTBD and EAST to intrinsically embed into performance marketing and website design processes and deliverables across the Human First Collective
- Own the process improvements including measurement methodologies for the BeSci team to continuously enhance deliverables
- Plan and execute mixed method research projects including qualitative and quantitative techniques, as well as using platforms like Meltwater and GWI to further enrich our insights
- Planning, coordination and execution of workshops both internally and with clients
- Experience translating complex behavioural insights into decks and strategies, using ROI/profit language for clients.
- Support with pitches across performance media, UX, website design, as well as behavioural research project pitches
- Deliver BeSci training to educate on principles and application both internally and with clients when needed
- Manage and mentor junior BeSci team members, championing an experimentation and measurement first approach, establishing best practice, technical proficiency and quality of work expectations in the team
- Collaborate with the Growth, SEO, Paid Media, Innovation, Content, DPR, Creative and UX teams to identify opportunities to enhance client deliverables
- Managing stakeholders both on client side and across the Human First Collective
- Proactive engagement with latest trends/insights impacting clients and sharing.

What success looks like:
- Collaboration with internal teams to ensure BeSci is embedded in everything we deliver across the Human First Collective
- Measurable performance impact through the delivery of BeSci work and the embedding of BeSci in internal and client processes, and deliverables
- Operational excellence & leadership both within the team, but across the Human First Collective
- Commercial growth as a result of pitches and quality of deliverables
The package
Salary: £45k DOE
Annual Leave: 28 days (ex., Bank Holidays) plus Birthdays, Charity day and between Christmas and NY.
