Position description:
Ubisoft IT is seeking a Security Researcher to join the Security and Risk Management (SRM) team. Fully integrated with Rainbow Six Siege (R6), this team is responsible for conducting security audits on R6 releases and services to ensure their resilience against various threats.
As a Security Researcher on this team, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analyses of security vulnerabilities in our games, analyzing exploits, and designing countermeasures to strengthen our organization's security posture. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify potential threats and recommend preventive measures to protect our games and sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical expert on security matters related to game security aspects such as anti-piracy, anti-cheat and in-game exploits;
- Research vulnerabilities in Ubisoft games and propose appropriate solutions or mitigations;
- Perform reverse engineering on existing software exploits that target our online games;
- Produce technical security guidance for game development teams;
- Evaluate and participate in the implementation of security protections within third-party game clients and servers;
- Conduct security code audits to find security weaknesses;
- Prioritize remediation actions and help development teams resolve issues;
- Effectively communicate technical security requirements to project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Experience in reverse engineering of games/cheats and/or vulnerability research;
- Strong knowledge of static and dynamic analysis of executables, proprietary file formats and proprietary network protocols;
- Experience with disassemblers/decompilers such as IDA Pro;
- Good knowledge of Windows internals;
- Deep understanding of software exploitation, protection/obfuscation techniques, knowledge of anti-cheat solutions and possible bypass methods, as well as cheating techniques;
- Good understanding of common vulnerabilities and security issues in online games.
