Overview

Pay: $120,000-150,000

Reporting to Head of Sales and Strategic Partnerships, the principal role of the Sales Lead is to develop the success of Channel Partner Managers (CPM) across sales opportunities by cultivating relationships with brokers and customers. The person in this position will develop expertise around all aspects of the customer and broker end-to-end journey and be the voice of the customer/broker within SmartestEnergy. This person will also lead the CPM team for external engagement to meet the sales goals set forth by the organization. Creating ideas for SEUS market growth and internal plan implementation to meet that growth.

The Sales Lead will be one of the primary users of SmartestEnergy’s Salesforce CRM and will be involved in the configuration of the system. In addition, working closely across departments to enhance sales success.

This position will be responsible for working closely with each departmental Leads, customer service, operations, enrolments, billing, and IT with the goals of, i.) maximizing sales and ii.) high customer and broker satisfaction.

In this role, you will be involved with the following:

Sales

  • Develop and implement a strong customer focus within SmartestEnergy
  • Develop strong relationships with multiple brokers.
  • Collaborate with customers and brokers to originate new business
  • Initiate and support new products for customers and brokers
  • Support sales support and customer service where needed
  • Attend market specific conferences
  • Strategize staffing growth with sales initiatives
  • Train and develop new sales talent and provide goals and feedback to meet company objectives
  • Perform Market research to help facilitate what states/utilities SEUS should look to expand
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within Sales Team. Actively seek feedback from team members, identify opportunities of innovation, and implement best practices to elevate the overall customer and broker experience.

  • Maximize sales

Problem Solving

  • Work with other SmartestEnergy departments and systems to solve problems for customers and brokers
  • Initiate and support process improvements that will make the broker and customer journeys simpler

Salesforce

  • Support the implementation of Salesforce and develop expertise on its use
  • Seek ways to use Salesforce to improve the customer and broker journey
  • Train new members of sales team on Sales Force functionality

The post holder is expected to plan, structure, and prioritize their day-to-day work in order to meet their objectives, the requirements of their manager and the needs of the project or activity. This may include coordination of other internal or external resources at an activity level.

Complex and structural decisions which affect the long-term operation of the business should be cleared with the line manager or relevant functional Vice President.

To be successful in this role, you are likely to have the following skills/experience:

  • Seasoned selling skills including consultative selling skills to understand customer needs
  • Experiences with Microsoft office suite at an intermediate level
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and confident in communicating roadblocks to stakeholders
  • History of strong leadership
  • Extensive industry contacts
  • Ability to lead and promote positive change throughout the business
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 6 Years of industry experience
  • Energetic, driven and committed to success while working under tight time constraints and pressure
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively within teams
  • High emotional resilience and good interpersonal and relationship building skills
