We got our start as a high-end construction project management consultancy. As a consultancy, we are focused on genuinely upgrading the way construction projects are delivered. We then take the deep understanding of the projects we work on to develop construction management software products that anyone can use to deliver their projects better.

The Role

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a qualified sales development representative (SDR) to join our sales and growth teams and support Shape’s outbound sales activities. The purpose of this role is to find and screen potential customers who could benefit from Shape’s software products.

As the first line of communication with a prospect, the ideal SDR has a strong understanding of the sales process and excels at researching leads, starting new relationships, and setting up sales closers for success. The SDR should be a quick learner who has strong communication skills and an ability to showcase Shape’s value proposition in a compelling way. Every potential customer is an opportunity for boosting top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability.


Our Growth team is made up of our sales, marketing & video teams. Together, we tell the Shape’s story to the world and make sure we are in the best possible position to continue forming long-lasting relationships with new customers. Your leader will be the overall Head of Growth.

Your top 6 objectives

  1. Represent Shape’s products using comprehensive knowledge as well as consumer research to explain how our solutions meet customer needs.
  2. Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing warm prospects and finding potential new sales opportunities.
  3. Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects.
  4. Feed our sales and marketing team with useful insights and a steady stream of SQLs generated from a wide range of digital sources.
  5. Keep our CRM systems organised and up to date to optimise lead generation and campaign efficiency.
  6. Identify best practices for refining the company’s lead-generation playbook.

Your top 6 responsibilities

As a Sales Development Representative, you will:

  1. Manage our CRM systems (HubSpot/Pipedrive), social outreach, and email to generate new sales opportunities.
  2. Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market and find new niches and approaches to attract new leads.
  3. Identify the needs of prospects, and provide information about our products.
  4. Build long-term, trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities.
  5. Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and the team performing the product demos.
  6. Report to your manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results.

Your Capabilities

You are a communicative and enthusiastic SDR capable of understanding our market needs, researching the market and finding new approaches to captivate potential customers.

Must-Have (The fundamentals)

  • Mastery: Excellent working knowledge spanning digital prospecting techniques, lead generation and CRM management (2+ years of experience in SaaS startups or similar.).
  • Communication: Proficient communicator in written and verbal English.
  • Leadership: You lead yourself proactively and lead others by asking the right questions and challenging them.
  • Impact: A track record of making organisations better using cutting-edge digital sales techniques.

Nice to Have (If you don’t have it now you will after joining)

  • Mastery: Implement new tools, processes and techniques to empower sales efforts.
  • Communication: The charisma, influence and presence to convince people to do new things and take the best approach.
  • Leadership: A proven track record building and working alongside high-performance teams.
  • Impact: A track record of implementing end-to-end digital sales solutions from scratch that had a significant and measurable positive impact.

Can you tell me more about what the role is like?

We are in scale up mode so it will be a full-on role with more things to do than time available. This is why it will be important to prioritise and develop capacity in the team by hiring and holding the team to the highest standards. We don’t like to mess about so you will need to be a very high performer who only wants to work with others of your ilk.

We are growing rapidly so that means you role will grow rapidly too, you will need to keep up and constantly be looking 1-2 years ahead.

Where would I be working?

All of our roles are 100% remote and home-based. However, if you would like to work in a co-work space to get out of the house we can arrange that. If you are in one of our locations with offices you can come as often as you like.
