Risk Manager

Scope and Purpose

  • Development and implementation of risk management policies and systems
  • Review and updating of the risk management policy and procedures and enhance the risk management framework of the Branch
  • Set up and promotion of the risk governance structure for the Branch
  • Credit risk portfolio reporting to monitor the internal credit rating of customers, credit concentration risk, etc.
  • Work with the relevant departments and colleagues to ensure the local regulatory loan classification standards are adhered to
  • Risk reporting and analysis on Treasury Department activities
  • Monitoring Mark-to-market valuation of derivatives
  • Act as Operational Risk Manager and production of operational risk event reporting and analysis / annual self-assessment
  • Monitoring operational risk event, near miss events and operational risk key risk indicators
  • Liquidity risk monitoring and preparing liquidity risk stress testing reports
  • Review the new product proposal (if any) and perform the risk assessment
  • Monitor and manage the credit, liquidity, market, interest rate and counterparty risk limits and ensure that risk limits are in adherence to internal and regulatory requirements and in line with Parent Company guidelines
  • Analyzing the risks (credit, market, liquidity, interest rate, operational risks, etc.) and preparing reporting / stress testing.
  • Monitor compliance with the limits assigned to risk taking centers, communicating to senior management of excess (if any) and breaches
  • Handle regulator surveys / questionnaires, enquiries from NFRA and PBOC on risk matters
  • Credit Stress Test for APAC level and branches of APAC area
  • Support the APAC Risk Management in the risk reporting for APAC and branches
  • Providing ad hoc analysis as directed by APAC Risk Management Office and Enterprise Risk Management in Head Office
  • Production of risk committee package (i.e. ALCO, risk committees) and appropriate analysis

Required Experience

7 years of relevant experience in banking industry

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • University graduate / professional qualification, preferably in risk management, business, banking, finance, statistics or related disciplines
  • Good knowledge of risk management, banking industry and products, financial risk measures
  • Programming skills, e.g. VBA, SQL, is an added advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, proactive with strong sense of responsibility; attention to details and able to work independently
