About the role...
Duolingo is seeking a motivated Revenue Accountant to own and improve our revenue and receivables processes. You’ll play a meaningful role in ensuring accurate reporting and compliance as a public company, while helping us build scalable processes for the future.

You will...
- Own the monthly revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Analyze revenue results and partner with FP&A to explain trends and drivers
- Support internal and external reporting requirements in compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP
- Partner with Business Development on invoicing and collections for partner contracts
- Find opportunities to automate and streamline revenue processes
- Maintain and test strong internal controls over the receivables process
You have...
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, PCAOB, and SEC requirements
- Experience with the month-end close process
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with precision
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in our Pittsburgh office
Exceptional candidates will have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CPA (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience at a public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm
- Hands-on expertise with Workiva, NetSuite, and Blackline
- Familiarity with Apple, Google, and Stripe payment platforms
- Experience reviewing SOC reports
- Comfort working in Google Workspace
- Background in a fast-paced tech startup
- A strong Duolingo streak!
We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.
This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
Salary Range:
$100,300—$163,300 USD
