Band: B
Location: London Broadcasting House/Salford
Contract: Permanent/12 month FTC
Salary: £24,300- £30,400 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. The successful candidate will also receive a London Weighting allowance of £5,319 per annum.

Job Purpose
BBC Media Operations is at the heart of teams delivering incredible content across all our platforms for all audiences. Comprising around nine hundred people, it manages the craft and production operations for the BBC’s news, radio, and some sport services across London, Salford, and Birmingham - capturing, editing, and producing our output 24x7 for TV, radio, and digital platforms. Our team are experts in their field with exceptional technical, operational and production creativity at their heart. Working closely together with our editorial colleagues, we co-create content reaching millions of people across the UK and the World daily. The team is also responsible for the management of production services, editing and post production, stores, and some audio, fleet vehicles and OB bases in England.
Working within a central team of resource schedulers you’ll look after the day-to-day schedules for Media Operations staff and facilities. You will often be working to tight deadlines in a 24/7/365 environment and adapting to last minute changes making sure that staff with the appropriate skills are allocated to the required operational environment at the right time. From time to time, you may be expected to take on work in other parts of the scheduling structure to help support your scheduling colleagues and allow for the work to be managed fairly across the wider team, according to skills and experience.
This is a Hybrid role with an expectation that you will come into the building at least twice a week and depending on business requirement, more often, particularly for any training or development needs and according to the operational needs of the team you will be scheduling.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
You will be expected to look after the day-to-day and/or the forward planning of schedules for a number of staff within the wider operation. You will be responsible for ensuring that the business workload is met by suitably skilled and experienced staff and will be a point of contact for queries and requests from the teams you schedule and other stakeholders. You will carry this out in accordance with BBC Terms and Conditions and HR Policies, liaising closely with the Media Operations management team, the teams you schedule and the wider scheduling team to ensure scheduling best practice is followed at all times. You will also be responsible for administering and managing all documentation associated with this process, using the associated systems and including timesheet processes, and some financial duties relating to charging, payments for staff and freelance effort.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
You will have exceptional organisation and planning skills and have a very high level of attention to detail. You will have experience of adopting new system workflows and carrying out business processes to a high standard. You will also need to be a great communicator, capable of delivering information in an accessible way, to a range of people. You will be able to work pragmatically and independently, resolving issues and finding solutions in a creative and timely manner. Finally, you will have the ability to work flexibly, in a fast-paced environment and be able to respond to situations quickly to accommodate changing needs.
