Location: This role is based in Milton Keynes and London. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered.For Quadrant: MK, you must live within 90 minutes.

Band & Salary: Band 3C (£55,596 - £65,966)

Brief Description

You will play a key role in supporting business continuity and resilience leads across the organisation, focusing on their development and the programmes they manage. You will lead the development and oversight of our Fusion platform, ensuring it meets business needs. Using your expertise and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, you will also develop and maintain the national framework and supporting toolkit, aligning them with best practice. The role includes delivering assurance activities to assess preparedness and resilience, while engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

About the team…

The National Business Continuity Team is a group function which operates across the entire company. We own the business continuity standard, framework and associated toolkits, as well as the provision of second line assurance to ensure the business maintains a certain level of capability. We are a centre of excellence, providing expert knowledge, advice and guidance to support the company in the development of their business continuity and broader resilience arrangements.

What does the average day look like?

No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. You'll spend much of your time working closely with business continuity and resilience leads, offering expert guidance, coaching, and support to help them grow and deliver effective resilience programmes. You’ll lead the development and continuous improvement of strategies, toolkits, and processes—including managing Business Impact Analyses and Contingency Plans—ensuring they’re aligned with corporate objectives and best practice. You’ll also oversee and deliver assurance activities and exercises to test the organisation’s preparedness. Regular engagement with internal teams and external stakeholders—such as industry partners, regulators, and government—is a key part of the role, helping to embed a culture of resilience across the business.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Resilience Manager to fill a permanent opportunity, based in Milton Keynes, but operating across the UK, to own and manage the relationship with the business continuity and resilience leads across the company. Acting as the subject matter expert, providing advice, guidance and support to those leads to facilitate the on-going development of their individual programmes, while ensuring alignment and compliance to the national standard.

Essential Criteria

·Educated to post-graduate level or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience of competencies.

·Membership of a relevant professional institute (e.g. MBCI).

·Qualified in a relevant service framework (e.g. ITIL)

·Proven experience in multiple resilience disciplines (e.g. Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management and Emergency Planning).

·Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of resilience standards, legislation and best practice.

·Knowledge of the wider rail and Information and Communications Technology industries.

·Knowledge and experience in a range of technologies/tools for Continuity planning and execution (Fusion specifically).

·Strong leadership skills with proven experience of team management.

·Able to set team goals, objectives and priorities, and balance these with challenging deadlines in a fast-moving environment that is dynamic, safety oriented and technology dependent.

·A proven communicator with influential, persuasive and negotiation skills across all levels in the organisation.
