This role will drive awareness, usage, and sales across this diverse and growing region. In this role, you'll take ownership of our regional marketing strategy—building connections, strengthening the Emerald brand, and creating campaigns that deliver real results.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to promote our journals, books, and cases to researchers, librarians, and institutions— playing a key role in supporting our global brand strategy while tailoring your approach to meet local needs and opportunities.

Location: Please note that this role requires the candidate to be based in the United Arab Emirates. While the team operates remotely, there is an expectation to attend the office approximately 3–4 times per month. There is no fixed schedule for office attendance, but colleagues make an effort to coordinate occasional in-person collaboration.

Day to day we’ll trust you to:

  • Develop and execute the marketing strategy for the Middle East and Africa: Drive awareness, sales, leads, and support customer retention through usage, up-sell, and cross-sell.
  • Run campaigns: From ideation to execution, you'll deploy successful marketing campaigns.
  • Experiment and innovate: Find the best channels to reach our target audiences.
  • Measure and optimize: Report on campaign performance, gain insights, and adjust strategies to hit our goals.
  • Support sales teams: Provide marketing tools, campaign assets, and content tailored to local audience needs and behaviours.
  • Collaborate with the product and services marketing team: Adapt and deliver regional messaging that reflects Emerald's value proposition.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Marketing skills: Brand strategy, campaign delivery, copywriting, digital marketing, social media.
  • Data savvy: Comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, and processing figures with spreadsheets.
  • Team player: Collaboration and influencing across marketing and sales teams.
  • Great listener: Assimilate information and act on it.
  • Multi-tasker: Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
  • Deadline-driven: Meet deadlines and maintain stable performance under pressure.
  • Excellent communicator: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience: Previous experience in research publishing or an academic research environment is a plus.

Roles are advertised at a benchmarked market median rate. Offers will be made within a range of the median, depending on skills and experience.
