Scope and Purpose

  • Identify business opportunities and growth strategies across rating and corporate debt advisory
  • Actively contribute to origination activities, mainly in coordination with Debt Origination and Industry coverage, proactively identifying the needs of corporate clients through in-depth financial analysis and strategic evaluations
  • Lead or supervise the execution of rating and corporate debt advisory mandates, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, and supporting clients in their interactions with all relevant counterparties (e.g. rating agencies, advisors, banks
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and mentoring to junior team members, fostering continuous learning and professional development
  • Stay constantly updated on market dynamics, industry trends and regulatory developments in the corporate space.

Required Experience

  • The candidate brings at least 10 years of professional experience in investment banking or top-tier advisory firms, gained in senior roles as rating, debt or financial advisor across corporate transactions, both in Italy and internationally
  • The candidate has gained a multi-year experience and familiarity with the Italian/European mid-large corporate market, including both IG and sub-IG credits
  • A proven track record in independently managing complex projects or client mandates is essential. Direct experience with/at rating agencies or a track record on rating-driven deals, will be considered a strong plus.

Competencies Required

  • The role requires strong analytical thinking, ability to summarize key credit drivers and build robust financial models. A deep understanding of financial statements, debt structures, and credit documentation — including covenants and key ratios — is essential. We value candidates who are able to translate technical analysis into clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. Familiarity with rating methodologies, as well as hybrid debt instruments, is considered a strong plus
  • The candidate is expected to convey technical content in a clear and structured way — both in writing and orally — adapting messages to different audiences. A client-oriented mindset and the capacity to foster long-term, trust-based relationships are critical, along with a proactive approach in anticipating client needs and supporting commercial development
  • A strong command of financial modelling tools is required. The candidate must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with financial databases (e.g. Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv) to support analysis, benchmarking and market screening will be considered an asset. A genuine curiosity toward technological innovation in the financial advisory space is also expected
  • Fluency in both Italian and English is required
  • Master’s degree in Economics or Engineering (preferably with a specialization in finance and financial markets). MBA, CFA or other qualifications will be considered an asset.
