Are you looking to take your first step into the world of academic publishing? Join Emerald Publishing as an intern and gain hands-on publishing experience working on integrating a recent acquisition in the Emerald Education product family.
This internship will last 12 weeks.
Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.

This is what you will be working on:
You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of over 100 active book series by helping to create engaging and informative series pages on our new platform. This involves working directly with series editors to craft compelling content that reflects each series’ aims and scope giving you the chance to build confidence in stakeholder communication and content development.
You’ll also support the production of in-flight titles by helping to compile essential metadata, ensuring our books are discoverable, accessible, and positioned for success. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with teams across content acquisition, product, production and sales, gaining a holistic view of the publishing process.
Finally, you’ll assist in transitioning series editors onto new Emerald contracts, using tools like DocuSign and managing key administrative tasks such as supplier form collection.

This internship is ideal for someone who is organised, curious, and with an eye for detail. You’ll leave with valuable experience in title management, project and stakeholder management and publishing operations leaving you well-equipped to take the next step in your publishing career.

Roles are advertised at a benchmarked market median rate. Offers will be made within a range of the median, depending on skills and experience.
