Project Manager - Cloud Infrastructures (Legacy Solutions)

Purpose and Activities

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Project Manager for our Cloud Infrastructures – Legacy Solutions unit. The person will join the Digital & Cloud Technology team at Intesa Sanpaolo and will be responsible for end-to-end management of complex IT projects, with a focus on strategic banking initiatives: digital transformation, cloud migration, regulatory compliance and core banking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, control and close projects, ensuring timelines, budget, quality and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Work closely with IT stakeholders, business functions and governance (Compliance, Risk), external vendors and technology partners.
  • Manage end-to-end IT banking projects: evolution and maintenance of core banking systems, digital channels, payment systems and compliance initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and third parties in regulated contexts.
  • Create and update project plans, budgeting, risk analysis and stakeholder management according to PMI or PRINCE2 standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks; handle critical issues and escalations.
  • Collaborate with compliance, security and legal teams to ensure GDPR, PSD2 and DORA compliance.
  • Report progress to senior management and steering committees.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with internal and audit standards such as ITGC, ITIL, ISAE 3402.
  • Continuous reporting to PMO and leadership, tracking project KPIs.
  • Support change management and user training.

Experience and Education

  • Minimum 5 years of IT Project Management experience on high-complexity projects in the banking or financial sector, including vendor and contract management.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Engineering, Economics or Mathematics preferred.

Methodologies and Technical Knowledge

  • Project methodologies: PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure service monitoring and performance indicators.
  • Understanding of on-premises, AWS/Azure/GCP cloud and hybrid architectures.
  • Basic knowledge of client-server, 3-tier and microservices architectures in cloud contexts.
  • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN) and components (firewall, load balancer, proxy, NAT).
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, z/OS environments and administration tools.
  • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and basic containerization (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, SAN/NAS/DAS storage, backup & recovery systems.
  • Basic cybersecurity concepts: access management, patching, audits, compliance, hardening, encryption and vulnerability management.

Tools and Technologies

  • MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins. Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, ETL tools is a plus.

Languages

  • Italian: native level.
  • English: fluent, able to draft technical documentation, attend international meetings and communicate with foreign stakeholders.

Certifications (preferred)

  • Master in Project Management, Digital Transformation or MBA.
  • PMP (PMI), PRINCE2 Practitioner, Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist, ITIL Foundation/Intermediate, COBIT.
  • Cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Fundamentals.
