Job Description and Position Requirements
Campus Recreation is seeking a skilled part-time professional graphic designer.
The position is responsible for:
- Assisting the creative team with design and production of print and digital materials.
- Preparing marketing materials, including brochures, displays, social ads, fliers, and web graphics.
- Providing creative design and typographic solutions, color-correcting images, and developing interactive and accessible pdfs.
- Tracking projects in various software and maintaining all archives.
A successful candidate will have experience with the above, as well as a thorough understanding of design and typography, digital and offset print processes and color systems. They must be proficient with Mac OS, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, and basic Microsoft Office products. Excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines, and familiarity with creating accessible digital documents is a plus.
Role of the Part-Time Graphic Designer
The part-time Graphic Designer is tasked with developing innovative ideas for all promotional material that builds engagement with Penn State University Park Students, while abiding by the university's marking requirements. The designer will assist with curating social media content that highlights programs, events, services, and Campus Recreation initiatives.
This position reports to the Assistant Director for Campus Recreation, who oversees the creative team.
Candidates must have either:
- A Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional experience in graphic design.
- An Associate's degree and at least four years of professional experience in graphic design.
