We have an incredible opportunity to join our Product Review team as a Product Review Senior Manager.

Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our 7,800 colleagues have ever worked.

We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market-leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The role

The Product Review team is a key control to assess the extent to which good customer outcomes are being delivered across products and propositions. As a team, we are responsible for the ongoing delivery of product review reports, the Product Governance Framework and Product Review Methodology, oversight and reporting of actions raised from product reviews, and onwards reporting to the relevant committees.

We are looking for a proven lead to help deliver our business objectives through delivering product reviews, review and oversight of controls and reports, actions oversight and support, monthly reporting, Product Risk Maps, Committee papers, and enhancing product governance frameworks and procedures including the Consumer Duty.

In evaluating options and decisions you will be expected to bring together subject matter experts from across the business. When writing reports, your critical thinking and judgment will need to draw out sound conclusions and communicate recommendations in a clear, concise, and audience appropriate way.

You'll be resilient working under pressure and able to juggle moving priorities whilst demonstrating the ability to think in diverse and creative ways. You’ll decipher complex information, find solutions, and take ownership of actions that reduce risk and drive good customer outcomes.

What are we looking for?

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of life and pension products and product governance in context of the UK legislative financial services landscape.
  • An excellent communicator, articulate at all levels of detail and be able to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Great report writing skills.
  • Experience in a product or risk oversight role, building reports, and making sound recommendations whilst balancing this with operational and regulatory risk.
  • Previous management experience where you have supported, challenged, and developed teams and people.
  • Experienced in making decisions and ensuring these are backed up with solid rationale and have the support of your stakeholders.
  • Ability to contextualise product and propositions into the wider offering to customers.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
