Product Owner
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £48,250 - £65,000(depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.
Let us introduce the role
AWE is currently recruiting for a Product Owner for the Enterprise Applications group.
The Product Owner will be required to provide support to internal bespoke software application development. This role is essential to the Enterprise Applications group to be successful.
- Manage the Product Backlog
- Create and maintain User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
- Maintain Product Roadmaps
- Implement application and system changes in line with IS processes, procedures and policies, to budget, time and scope.
- Communicate with key business stakeholders to ensure systems meet expectations.
- System specialist/SME/Super user for applications relating to specialism.
- Escalate incidents, problems issues and risks accordingly.
- Task manage key resources supporting the system.
Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in Product Management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Azure DevOps
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle
- Strong understanding of Agile Methodologies and principles
- Experience with User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX)
- Experience of Application Development Software i.e. .NET and SQL
- Experience of Cloud application management
- ITIL Qualification
You’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 1/2 days onsite per week however more site presence may be required at certain times of the year. If you are somebody who thrives in working on-site then more site presence would be accommodated.
