Why this role matters
As our Senior Product Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping Stora’s product experience, driving innovation, and setting the design vision for our platform. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-centric designs that address real-world needs, elevate the user experience, and align with business objectives. Your leadership will influence not just individual features, but also the broader design strategy as we scale.
Key responsibilities
- Full-cycle design ownership: Lead projects from discovery and problem definition through to concept testing, covering user flows, wireframes, hi-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes.
- Collaborative development: Work closely with engineering, marketing, and cross-functional teams to understand business goals, support product development, and ensure designs meet customer needs.
- Systematic design: Apply systems thinking to design scalable solutions, as we plan for continuous updates and new products over the coming years.
- User-centric approach: Engage directly with customers to validate designs, gathering feedback to refine and improve user experiences.
- Design leadership: Set a strong example in the team by actively participating in peer feedback and design reviews, fostering a collaborative and creative culture. Mentor and guide junior designers.
What you’ll bring
- Versatility: Comfortable working across the full design stack, from initial concepts to prototyping and testing, and wearing multiple hats as needed.
- Customer focus: A curiosity about how well designs perform in the real world, and an eagerness to speak with customers to inform and improve design decisions.
- Systems thinking: The ability to create scalable design solutions, aligning with our ambition to continually release new products and features.
- Growth mindset: Strong opinions on design and product development, and openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
- Prototyping: Proficiency in HTML and CSS for prototyping.
- AI curiosity: A genuine interest in exploring AI tools and their potential applications in design to enhance your work.
- Leadership skills: Experience mentoring designers or leading design initiatives.
Preferred experience
7+ years as a product designer with a proven record of designing and delivering web or mobile applications. Ideally in a startup or agile environment, where adapting to change is the norm.
